About the artist
My name is De, and I designed and created everything here!
My business is a tribute to my family and friends, who have inspired my love for art in every form along the way.
Backstory:
From a young age, my dear grandma tried her hardest to teach me patience and focus. She introduced me to the world of crafting, starting with coasters and washcloths. While I was initially intrigued, my interest often waned after a few rows, as sitting still wasn’t my forte. I preferred outdoor adventures, like shooting BB guns with the boys. It wasn't until later that we discovered I am highly dyslexic, have ADHD, and poor vision. With the help of a dedicated therapist and a pair of glasses, I learned new ways to keep my brain focused, and my confidence began to grow.
Fast forward a couple of years, and at the age of 7, I received a collection of dolls for Christmas. Though I didn’t play with dolls much, my aunt showed me how to hand-sew outfits for them, and I was instantly hooked. My mom’s basket of unmatched socks became my treasure trove for creating fashionable doll outfits, sparking a lifelong passion for making things.
My grandpa, a resourceful farmer with a green thumb, could fix or repurpose anything. His inventive spirit left a lasting impression on me.
My dad, an avid doodler, inspired my love for art and music. Some of my fondest memories are of us sketching together, fueling my imagination and encouraging me to see the world creatively.
My mom has been a constant source of inspiration and support. A talented painter, she mesmerized me with her ability to bring images to life. She encouraged my interests in dance, gymnastics, and movement, chauffeuring me to every gym our small town had to offer. She gifted me my first sewing machine and allowed me to experiment with old clothes and fabrics, fostering my creativity. from sewing doll clothes to designing my own outfits, from practicing cheer, dance, and gymnastics to engaging in archery and photography, from making jewelry and cooking to gardening, achieving a black belt, performing with hula hoops, lyra, and fire, and quilting and crocheting, my mom has been there every step of the way. Her unwavering love and encouragement have shaped who I am today.
I believe my family would be proud of my progress, achievements, and goals in art and life. Their influence is woven into every piece I create, and I’m grateful for the foundation they’ve given me.
